The problem is that the Rocketfish system, uses speaker wire ports. and the CT100 has only HDMI and audio input/output ports.
I heard that you can change speaker wire to audio ports. But how would you do this? And also. would it even work with a soundbar?

I have a Samsung LN52A650 LCD and just bought a Yamaha Soundbar (YAS-71). The guy at best buy sold me a digital optical cable and I am getting no sound when I use this cable. When I use regular RCA (red and white) it works but I want to use the optical cable. Any ideas of why its not working?
The soundbar is connected to the subwoofer which has the optical inputs. The woofer acts as the amplifier. I have the optical cable from the input in the woofer to the output in the tv. Still no sound. I am wondering if I need to change a setting in the menu on the tv?

Purchasing a PS3 and HDTV soon and looking for a reliable and moderately priced surround system... like a Yamaha Soundbar. Since some Blu-Rays arrive with what appears to be just DTS 7.1 Master Audio (i.e. Hellboy 2, Miami Vice), will I be able to hear to the movie on a 5.1 system?
Thanks for the help... every this HD audio stuff is so new to me

I was thinking about getting a soundbar for my bedroom/ home theater system. My room is about medium size. I was alos thinking about getting different components for a speaker system which would cost around $1000. How good is a soudnbar compared to surround sound? What should I do?

I purchased the vizio soundbar with subwoofer around Xmas and it works great with decent sound. The only problem is the remote control that came with it is a piece of junk and did not last. I know there are superior universal remotes that can possible control anything and everything. I have comcast and wondered if there is a way to program that remote to work with my surround sound. I honestly do not want to spend 200+ for a universal remote I am completely glad with comcast which does control my tv. If there is no way for the comcast remote to work with my surround sound, could someone PLEASE recommend a inexpensive remote to work with vizio. If a 5+ function remote is the only way to go then that's what I will do. I just want to control my surround sound without having to receive up every time its to noisy or soft.

I don't have enough room for my speakers so I was going to install in-ceiling speaker for the front and back speakers. It will be in my living room. We have a pretty open layout with high ceilings. I will also have a subwoofer and soundbar to go along with the in-ceiling speakers. From what I have researched the in-ceiling speakers aren't as good as regular surround sound speakers. And I'm worried about the high ceiling playing a factor in it. Do you think I'm wasting my money with the in-ceiling speakers? I want a good quality sound.
i would put speaker on the wall but then they wont be symmetrical due to the open floor plan.

I have a ps3 mated to a sony ht-ct100 soundbar system. I was pleased with the sound of the system for the price--def an improvement over the tv speakers--but was a bit underwhelmed given its glowing reviews. bluray discs sounded decent but not great--cd's and mp3's, however, sounded pretty good. I recently hooked up cable with HD service and suddenly, WOW, the speakers arrive to life! Deeper, richer sound and a patent surround effect! So, I have to conclude something is off w my ps3 settings, or perhaps the speaker settings when connected to the ps3. i have audio output set to linear pcm when watching blu-ray discs; anytrhing else i should be aware of? what are the best asettings for watching blu-ray and/or dvd's?
btw am using hdmi cables for every connections
oh I know it cant measure up to a true surround system--I guess the essence of my question, amidst every my rambling, is: why am i getting better sound quality/surround effects through HD cable service than through my ps3, the uncomprewssed sound of which I thought was supposed to be better?

Just recently renovated my basement and put in 4 in wall speakers that now run through a sony A/V receiver. I have been reading a lot about sound bars and I was wondering if you could use both a sound bar and a surround sound system and if so, is it a good or bad idea?

I just got a soundbar (virtual surround speakers) and I was wondering if it needed open space on the sides to work properly. I have a nice place for it, but it would have things pressed up on both sides. Will this receive in the way of it bouncing the sound around the room. In case it's important, the model is YAS-71 by Yamaha. Thanks!

I have a 10 x 10 room that I would like to convert into a "man cave". My wife isnt feeling the idea of setting up another room with expensive surround sound equipment. So the question I have is do I receive a soundbar to hang on the wall with my 42 inch LCD, or do I buy a surround sound "in a box" set to put in there. I will be playing video games, and watching football in there mostly, so my movie experience sound is saved for the living room. Which is better to buy? Price range I am working with is $300-$500 bucks, may be able to squeeze more money if I needed to.

Conditions:
- I dont want it to have a DVD/Blu-ray player (the ps3 plays any media)
- I want it to offer a great virtual surround without rear speakers
- I dont want to buy a standalone bulky amplifier.
- I want it to have decent watts yet i want it to be smooth
- I dont want a soundbar (i dont have any room for it)
- I want it to have a nice style (if possible i want the right and left columns to be slim and high so they are placed on the floor)

I just got a Vizio VSB200 High Definition Soundbar, and for the first five or so minutes after I set it up it worked perfectly, but every of a sudden it made a pop sound and went silent. Now everytime I turn it on it makes the same faint popping sound and then freezes and becomes completely unresponsive except for turning the power off, and even then sometimes it seems to only reset or even do nothing at every when I push power. For a split second second after I first turn the power on I'm able to do something like change the input or turn on the surround sound, but it freezes while I do it and gets stuck.
The LEDs across the bottom don't show any of the mistake codes like the manual describes, they just freeze on whatever they happen to be on when it stops responding.
It's connected to my Vizio 37" LCD HDTV through the TV's analog audio out plug. I don't think it's anything to do with the TV's signal being sent to it because it worked fine the first few minutes and I didn't change anything about it before or after that.

i just bought a 97 jeep wrangler..the soundbar isn"t hooked up. I pulled the carpet back and found the following: a red wire connecting the soundbar to below the dash (probably power), and a black wire connecting the soundbar to metal. there are 4 tiny wires unattached to anything coming from the soundbar, and a red and white sound wire coming from below the dash (actually has plugs like on a tv surround system), and a ground wire every unattached. how can i hook this mess up to make the soundbar work. i do have sound coming from the front dash speakers. thanks for help.
